The US Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) was formed in 1958 and incorporated as a non-profit organization of the Navy in 1962. Our unit, named after the USS Harlan R. Dickson (DD-708), was commissioned on 13 April 1968. Our unit is lead by a former Sea Cadet himself, LCDR John Murphy III. We are one of three active USNSCC units in New Hampshire.
During COVID our unit was strong and learned how to adapt. We did a cooking class online, physical training (PT) and many other virtual team-building activities. Great job cadets!
Our unit holds drill at the Navy Reserve Center (NRC) most Thursdays in Londonderry, NH. Drill activitiesare different every week and cadets learn about military bearing, leadership, and respect. Our unit is active in the community participating in parades, color guard detail at military ceremonies, and other events.
